It's almost officially Summer!!!

 

I don't know about you guys, but I am ready for boating and barbeques.  Not so much bikinis, but we'll get there.  On to my favorites from this month!

The Little Triggers

A few weeks ago marked one year since my dad passed away.  To be honest, the actual anniversary was not too bad.  My sisters, mom and I talked about the anxiety leading up that day and how that was almost harder than the anniversary itself.  We got a lot of our tears out privately in the days leading up to May 6th, and spent the day together laughing and making stepping stones to honor my dad.

#6. Visit 3 New Places: Annapolis, MD

We just got back from an awesome overnight trip to Annapolis and Baltimore, MD.  Scott and I went with great friends of ours, Drew and Allison.  Taking advantage of the long weekend, we decided to book a bed & breakfast in Annapolis for Sunday night (Scotlaur Inn), which is located directly above the famous Chick & Ruth's Delly on Main Street.

Pinterest Tested: Wedding Card Album

Only 7 1/2 months later, (most of) our wedding cards are in a nice pretty album!  I am a big fan of cards - I love sending them for every holiday and receiving them is always fun, too ;).  We were given so many beautiful wedding cards, I really wanted to find a way to keep them all together.  I found a tutorial on Pinterest months ago and decided to try it out this week.

I went to Michael's and got all of my supplies for about $30 (thank you 30% off entire purchase coupon!).  The album rings they had were pretty big; I thought they would be too big until I realized how many cards we had... then I thought they may be too small.

Throwback Quiz: MySpace Style

For some reason I have been thinking about my teenage years lately.  Maybe it's because being an adult and working errday isn't all it's cracked up to be.  Anywho, I thought it might be fun to answer these classic MySpace quiz questions as my adult self (normal boring text) and as my 15 year old self (super cute hot pink text!!!).

 

Why We Hate Mondays



7:00AM

First alarm goes off.  Hit snooze and mentally decide you'll wake up in exactly 7 minutes.

 

7:15AM

Second alarm goes off.  Hit snooze and start counting down from 100, you'll totally get out of bed when you get to 1... right?

7:36AM

Wake up in a total fog and jump out of bed to start getting ready.  First explicit word of the day.

Getting Dirty with Frank

About two months ago I saw Frank on instagram a few times.  A month later I came across a couple rave reviews about Frank (here and here) on bloglovin'.  I decided I needed Frank in my life.  Before you go calling Scott, I'll be frank with you - sorry, had to fit that pun in somewhere ;).

 

Drop it Like a Squat

In the never ending journey to get a body like Jessica Alba, I have incorporated weight lifting into my work out routine.  My husband is kicking my ass at the gym and I am starting to see changes in my body.  Yet, when I'm at the gym, it's hard not to notice my fellow gym rats and some of them are quite interesting.  There is only one way I know how to share with you my people watching ways, a list.

Weekend in Pictures: Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there!  We had a really nice weekend.  Friday and Saturday were spent relaxing, and on Sunday we did the Breast Cancer Walk in the city and I had my sisters and mom over for dinner :).  My mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor and it was awesome to spend Mother's Day morning honoring her!  Here's what my weekend looked like...

Review: Casetagram

I have been dying to order a phone case from Casetagram for a few months, but couldn't justify the price tag.  When I saw an email from GILT City (a luxury deal site), I jumped on it!  I ended up getting my case for $24, as opposed to $40.

One Year Later

Today marks a year since my dad passed away, and I have missed him every day since.  Some days I think about the big things I miss about him, and some days I wish I could just call him to talk. 

Bathroom Make-over!!! (Part 2 - The Reveal!)

It's finally done!!!  We said goodbye to the yellow and dark old powder room and hello to a bright and clean new look!  You can see part 1 of this make over here.
